Spice

So I first fell in love with Spice in college. It was about my sophomore year and a trendy new thai restaurant opened on the corner of University Pl and 10th St right near NYU. Now this was when thai food eateries were just getting cool and trendy. What was getting even more popular were Asian lunch specials. Almost every place that opened featured a lunch special. The thing that was unique about this new explosion of lunch meals was that they were high in quality. You didn't have to sacrifice anything to dine on one of these dishes.

Spice went from a nice find to an obsession. My friends and I would go there for lunch about 4 times a week. Although that pace has fallen off drastically, I still enjoy having a meal there when I am in the area. For a mere $8, you get a good size appetizer and a full size entree.

Some of my favorite dishes, whether it be for lunch or even for dinner, are the Basil Beef, Drunk Man Noodles and Bamboo with Beef. You can tell I like beef but these dishes seem equally good with Chicken.

Be warned that the lunch rush is often crowded and they serve you very quickly and try to get you out. However, for the price, it is totally worth it.

Spice is an favorite of mine and has been for many years. Stop by if you are in the area.

Stay hungry my friends.
