Damon and Pythius, when it opened about 2 years ago in Westwood Village near UCLA quickly grew to become one of my favorite causal eateries. It is one of the freshest and delicious tasting places I think I have ever been to. Yes, the name sounds a bit like it might be Greek food but don't believe the name.
Some of my favorite menu items are the California Cheesesteak which is marinated flank steak, lettuce, tomato, crispy onion rings, a unique ranch sauce all upon a fresh rosemerry foccacia bread. See, seems like it would be a run of the mill menu item but the unique spins they put on everything set them apart from other places. Other noteworthy items are the Cobb Salad with steak, the BBQ chicken salad, the meatloaf and the Chicken Club (which is also not the norm). I feel sandwiches and salads are the way to go here. I am sure the entrees are great but the other items are plenty of food especially if you add a side item.
The sides are all great....onion rings, garlic fries, sauteed mushrooms, garlic spinach, mac and cheese and curly fries.
This is a MUST if in Westwood Village in LA. Truly one of my favorites.
Stay hungry my friends.
